This simple Avocado Pineapple Smoothie is creamy, delicious and easy to make with only a few ingredients. The avocado gives the smoothie a really smooth texture while the pineapple and other ingredients gives it the perfect sweetness. This is definitely a favorite in our household!

Avocado Pineapple Smoothie

AVOCADO PINEAPPLE SMOOTHIE INGREDIENTS

The ingredients to make this delicious smoothie are pretty simple:

Avocado -  Fresh avocado blends easier and is also convenient and easy to find in stores. However now they do sell frozen avocado as well. You can find it in some grocery stores. If you are using fresh avocado, make sure it is ripe.

Pineapple - I prefer frozen pineapple in my smoothies to help give it a thicker consistency, but you can certainly use fresh pineapple as well.

Banana - Again frozen banana works best as it gives the smoothie a thick, creamy consistency. Just peel your banana ahead of time, cut it in half and lay it in a single layer on a plate. Freeze in your freezer for about 3 hours. Then transfer the frozen banana from the plate to a freezer safe bag or air-tight container.

Almond milk - Almond milk goes perfectly with this smoothie but feel free to use regular whole milk as well. I also prefer using the vanilla flavored almond milk in my smoothies.

Honey - Sweeteners for the most part are always optional in smoothies. But a touch of honey would go nicely with this smoothie.

Optional: Ground flaxseeds or protein powder - I love adding ground flaxseeds to most of my smoothies. You can also add a vanilla or neutral protein powder as well.

TIPS FOR MAKING A GREAT SMOOTHIE

Use frozen fruit for your smoothies. Frozen fruit gives you the perfect smoothie texture without having to use ice. Ice can sometimes water down your smoothie. So whenever you have the opportunity, always opt for frozen fruit.

Add your liquid first. Always add your liquid first to the blender when making a smoothie. This not only protects the blades in your blender but it also helps the ingredients to blend easier.

Sweeteners. Try to stay away from adding regular sugar to your smoothie. Use natural sweeteners instead like honey, maple syrup or dates instead.
