Tips For Making A Smoothie

  • Use frozen fruit for your smoothies. Frozen fruit gives you the perfect smoothie texture without having to use ice. Ice can sometimes water down your smoothie. So whenever you have the opportunity, always opt for frozen fruit.
  • Wash your fruit really well. If you are using fresh fruit make sure to wash your fruit and produce really well before adding to your blender, especially if you plan to leave the skin on your fruit. Most of the time I buy organic fruit, leave the skin on my peaches and apples and just wash them well before using them in my smoothies.
  • Sweeteners. Try to stay away from adding regular sugar to your smoothie. Use natural sweeteners instead like honey, maple syrup or dates.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sweetened almond milk*
  • 1 cup Spinach
  • 1 teaspoon ground flax seeds
  • 1 ½ cup Frozen Strawberries
  • ½ Frozen Banana
  • 1 teaspoon honey optional

Instructions

  • In your blender, blend almond milk, spinach and ground flax seeds first until you reach a juice-like consistency.
  • Next, add frozen strawberries, frozen banana, and honey if you’d like.
  • Blend until smooth and enjoy!

Notes

*You can also use unsweetened almond milk. I just prefer sweetened.
**If using fresh fruit, be sure to use less milk and add a little ice to thicken your smoothie. Keep in mind ice will water down the smoothie a bit. So I would recommend using frozen fruit.

A really good recipe, but I find I need to use/add:
Extra frozen strawberries, a whole frozen banana, a tsp-ish of vanilla, extra honey, and additional sweetener of white corn syrup.
    Then it's AMAZING!
