Mango Smoothie Ingredients
Just 4 simple ingredients to make this super yummy mango smoothie recipe!
Frozen Mango & Frozen Pineapple - Frozen fruit is easy to find at most grocery stores in the freezer section.
Vanilla Yogurt - Greek or Non-dairy Vanilla flavored yogurt. I use the non-dairy vanilla flavored Oui yogurt made by Yoplait. I’ve tried several different non-dairy yogurts and I like theirs the best.
Almond milk - Almond milk goes perfectly with this smoothie, but feel free to use any plant based milk. I also prefer using the vanilla flavored almond milk in my smoothies.
(Optional) Hemp seeds, Ground flaxseeds or Protein powder - I love adding ground flaxseeds or hemp seeds to most of my smoothies.
Tips For Making The Best Smoothie
Use frozen fruit. Frozen fruit gives you the perfect smoothie texture without having to use ice. Ice can sometimes water down your smoothie. So whenever you have the opportunity, always opt for frozen fruit. You can also freeze your fresh fruit if you happen to buy it when it’s in season. I often buy lots of berries in the spring & summer months and freeze them to use in smoothies later. You can definitely do the same with mango and pineapples.
Add your liquid first. Always add your liquid first to the blender when making a smoothie. This not only protects the blades in your blender but it also helps the ingredients to blend easier.
Sweeteners. Try to stay away from adding heavy sweeteners or regular sugar to your smoothie. Use natural sweeteners instead like honey, maple syrup or dates when needed. However, for this Mango Smoothie there is no need to add any additional sweeteners. The sweetness from the pineapples and vanilla flavored yogurt and almond milk is all the sweetness you need.
The Best Blenders
I’ve been making smoothies for quite some time and I’ve had the chance to test out a few different blenders. My favorite two are this Ninja blender and this Vitamix blender. The Ninja blender is perfect for beginners and if you are on a budget. I used it for 4 years before I upgraded to a Vitamix. The Vitamix blender is on the pricey side, but is very powerful and is made to last a very long time.
If you are on the fence about which one to buy or are just curious about the pros and cons, I’ve created a detailed comparison video you can watch here.
