This sautéed asparagus recipe has quickly become one of my favorite quick side dishes to make any day of the week. It goes perfectly with fish, chicken, or steak and I love how tender and easy it is to digest. Of course you can keep the asparagus spears whole for that pretty plated look, but I often just cut them into thirds to make it easy for my kiddos to eat. You’ll definitely want to memorize this one and add it to your weekly veggie rotation!

Cooking asparagus in a skillet is not only easy, but it also adds so much flavor. The asparagus is infused with butter, olive oil, and garlic, then you can finish with a little fresh lemon juice or grated parmesan cheese for even more flavor! Now I love alternating between this method and my air fryer asparagus recipe.😉
How To Cook Sautéed Asparagus

Trim: Trim the woody ends off of the asparagus spears, then cut the asparagus into thirds.

Sauté: Sauté the asparagus in a large skillet until it begins to turn bright green.

Add: Add the garlic and seasoning to the skillet and toss to combine with the asparagus.

Lemon juice: Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and enjoy. So good!
Recipe Tip!
Asparagus cooks fairly quickly. So keep an eye on it and try not to overcook it. Stir it occasionally as it sautés, season it well, then remove it from the heat once it's fork tender.
Ways To Serve Asparagus
There are so many ways to enjoy asparagus, but I love to have it on the side with pan-seared chicken, steak, or flaky white fish. It also tastes great in this chicken asparagus pasta, you can easily add it to your favorite pasta salad, or add it to a simple breakfast frittata. Asparagus adapts very well to different flavors, so the possibilities are endless!
