My favorite way to enjoy any vegetable is during their peak season. Of course you can buy asparagus all year long, but it's even better during the Spring and Summer months! And this Air Fryer Asparagus recipe is probably one of the easiest ways to cook asparagus and can be made in just 10-minutes! It’s now my go-to recipe when I need a quick and easy side dish to go with my meal.

Asparagus is one of those vegetables that I didn't start eating until I was an adult. But to my surprise, it taste great with almost any flavor combination you add to it and is really easy to prepare! So its perfect for those busy weekdays when I need a really quick side dish for dinner. A lot like my favorite sautéed zucchini and yellow squash recipe...but even easier!😊
Ingredients For Air Fryer Asparagus
Just 3 simple ingredients is all you need to make this quick & easy air fryer asparagus recipe:
- Asparagus: You'll need one bunch (or approximately 1 pound) of asparagus. I like to get the thinner asparagus spears, but if all you can find are thicker spears that will certainly work too!
- Olive oil: You'll need just a little bit of olive oil or avocado oil to help the seasoning stick to the asparagus. And it keeps the asparagus from burning in the air fryer.
- Lemon pepper seasoning: Lemon pepper seasoning makes this recipe super easy. It's a combination of lots of spices including lemon, black pepper, garlic, and salt. Tons of flavor packed into one seasoning mix! It's also my secret ingredient for my oven roasted broccoli and my black-eyed peas recipe!

How To Cook Asparagus In The Air Fryer

Wash, dry, and trim off the thick woody stem at the end of the asparagus spears.

Drizzle and rub the olive oil into each spear. Sprinkle the lemon pepper seasoning over the asparagus and toss until all the asparagus is evenly coated.

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Add the seasoned asparagus to the air fryer basket in an even layer (as even as you can). You may need to do 2 separate batches.

Cook for 4 minutes, stopping and shaking halfway through. Remove from the air fryer and enjoy with your favorite meal!
Serving Suggestions
Air fryer asparagus is great as a side dish for several different types of protein including air fryer chicken breasts, salmon, pork chops, or baked chicken. You can even switch up the seasoning and add it to your favorite pasta, like this chicken asparagus pasta or a simple breakfast frittata!

Notes
- Lemon pepper seasoning already has lots of spices in it including salt. But depending on the brand of seasoning that you use, you may need to add just a small pinch more of salt and garlic powder. I used Lawry's Lemon Pepper Seasoning and it's packed with flavor.
- If your asparagus spears & stems are really thick, you may need to add 1 additional minute to the cook time.
