How come no one told me how life-changing it is to make your own homemade croutons? These Air Fryer Croutons are not only easy to make, but they’re also crunchy, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely amazing in every single way! Just some sturdy bread, a little bit of olive oil, and a few simple spices is all you need! I currently keep a batch in my fridge at all times now 😄

Ingredients for Air Fryer Croutons
Once you’ve tried this recipe and taste the difference in homemade croutons, there’s really no going back to those store-bought packages. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Thick Bread: I like using thick sourdough bread. You can either purchase a fresh, crusty loaf in the bakery section or buy slices of sourdough bread in the pre-packaged bread aisle.
- Olive Oil: A little bit of olive oil to help the seasoning stick to the bread.
- Seasoning: A simple mix of Italian seasoning, garlic powder, sea salt is all you’ll need. You can also add some freshly cracked black pepper for a little kick!
Only Three Steps!
There’s only 3 steps when it comes to making these easy air fryer croutons!
Step One: If you’re using a whole loaf of sourdough bread, slice off 4 slices of bread, then cut the slices into cubes or tear them into roughly ½-¾-inch pieces. If you are using pre-sliced sourdough bread, just line up the slices and cut into cubes or tear off the pieces for a more rustic shape.
Step Two: Add the cubed or torn bread pieces to a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil and season with seasoning. Toss the bread with your hands or tongs and make sure all of the bread is evenly coated with the oil and spices.
Step Three: Add the seasoned bread cubes to the air fryer and air-fry for roughly 8 minutes until golden brown, shaking half-way through. That’s it! Super easy and oh-so-good!
Quick Tip!
Looking to add extra flavor to your croutons? Add in some grated parmesan cheese or purchase a sourdough bread that’s made with cheese baked into it. I've also made them this way before and they were extra tasty!
Storing Homemade Croutons
Don’t tell anyone, but sometimes I eat these croutons by themselves straight out of the fridge! I store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days and then they’re ready whenever I need them for a quick salad, soup, or just for snacking.
