Alright friends, this is not your average salad recipe. This easy Strawberry Salad has been a favorite in my family for years and is made with just 5 simple ingredients. Anytime my mom brings this salad to a potluck or bar-b-que itโ€™s literally gone in minutes! It includes sweet strawberries, juicy mandarin oranges, and itโ€™s topped off with a sweet & tangy raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Itโ€™s so good and one Iโ€™m sure youโ€™ll want to make all season long!

This recipe was originally published in April 2021. It has been completely updated and refreshed with new photos and information.

Ingredients Youโ€™ll Need

A simple recipe that only includes 5 ingredients is always a win in my book! Hereโ€™s everything that you need:

  • Salad Greens: You can use all baby spinach for this salad, but I like to use a mix of spinach and spring mix lettuce. Look for the containers that say 50/50 or half & half.
  • Strawberries: Juicy, sweet strawberries are the star of the show! Feel free to slice or chop them however you want.
  • Mandarin Oranges: For this salad, I like getting the pre-peeled mandarin oranges that are in the canned fruit aisle at the grocery store. Just drain the juice and theyโ€™re ready to go!
  • Walnuts: Chopped walnuts add a crunchy texture to the salad, but you can also use sliced almonds, pistachios, or any type of candied nuts.
  • Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing: My mom always topped this salad off with a raspberry vinaigrette because it compliments the strawberries and oranges perfectly. Iโ€™ll share my recipe below. But this salad also works with a simple balsamic dressing too!

The Dressing

What really makes this strawberry spinach salad pop is definitely the dressing. I always use a raspberry vinaigrette dressing and it tastes so good with the strawberries and oranges. Now itโ€™s really easy to make it homemade with fresh raspberries, extra virgin olive oil, and vinegar. But you can also buy it if youโ€™re short on time. Trust meโ€ฆall the flavors combined are absolutely delicious!

Want To Add More?

If youโ€™re in the mood for even more salad goodness you can add any of the extra toppings below:

  • Feta or goat cheese
  • Dried cranberries
  • Thinly sliced red onion
  • Homemade air fryer croutons
  • Or add a lean protein like pan-seared chicken, air fryer chicken breasts, salmon, pan-seared shrimp, or grilled chicken.
