Philly cheesesteak sliders are seriously the best of both worlds! You get the delicious taste of cheesesteak and they're made in small, easy to grab, sandwiches that are perfect for feeding a crowd. Now me and my family love having these sliders just for dinner, but they're absolutely perfect for game day, parties, and family gatherings. They're easy to make with just a few simple ingredients and will probably be gone in minutes...hint, you might want to make extra!😊

I’ve always been a fan of Philly cheesesteaks, but having them in smaller, easy to eat sandwiches is now my favorite! Other bite-sized foods that I love to make all year long are these fun Spinach Balls, these super tasty Parmesan Crusted Potatoes, and of course my 3-ingredient Sausage Balls!
Here’s What You Need:
The ingredients for these cheesesteak sliders are so simple and easy to grab at your local store. Here's what you'll need:
- Shaved Steak: To keep this recipe simple and easy, I use thinly pre-shaved ribeye steak and season it with steak seasoning. It’s the perfect texture and saves me lots of time.
- Hawaiian Rolls: I love using Hawaiian rolls for slider recipes because they're soft, buttery, and have just the right amount of sweetness to compliment savory flavors. They’re also the perfect size for sharing at parties!
- Peppers and Onions: I keep my cheesesteak sliders simple with just a yellow onion and a green bell pepper, but sautéed mushrooms are also a great addition and add another layer of flavor.
- Provolone Cheese: Provolone cheese goes really well with cheesesteaks, but feel free to use Swiss, White American, or even Cheez Whiz if you’re going for that classic Philly cheesesteak taste!

How To Make Philly Cheesesteak Sliders
The full measurements are included in the recipe card below, but here’s a quick step-by-step overview:

Slice the rolls: Cut the rolls in half lengthwise. Place the bottom half in a baking dish and set the top half to the side.

Sauté the veggies: In a large skillet, sauté the onions and bell pepper. Then remove them and transfer to a separate plate.

Cook the steak: In the same skillet, add the shaved ribeye steak and cook until brown.

Add the seasoning: Add the sautéed peppers and onions back to the skillet along with the seasoning and Worcestershire sauce.

Assemble: Spread the steak mixture on the bottom rolls, then add the cheese slices. (p.s. I also like to brush some of the garlic butter over the bottom rolls before adding the steak).

Brush with butter: Brush or spoon the garlic butter over the top of the rolls. Bake until the tops are light golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey. Yum!
Steak Tip!
You can usually find pre-shaved steak in the ground meat section of your grocery store. They often come in 12-14 oz. containers. Some will simply say “shaved beef steak” and others will say shaved “ribeye” steak. I’ve tested both and the shaved ribeye steak tastes the best! Of course you can also grab a ribeye steak and cut it yourself, just make sure to use a sharp knife and slice it really thin.

Ingredients
- 1 small yellow onion
- 1 green bell pepper
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil, divided
- 2 Tablespoons butter, divided
- 12-14 oz. shaved ribeye steak
- 1 Tablespoon steak seasoning
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 6 slices provolone cheese*
- 12 Hawaiian rolls**
Garlic Butter
- 6 Tablespoons butter
- 1 garlic clove***, pressed or finely minced
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 Tablespoon fresh chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the onion in half and slice it into thin strips. Slice the bell pepper into thin strips. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Sauté the onions and peppers for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, then transfer them to a separate plate.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of oil. Add the shaved steak and cook until fully brown.
- Now add the sautéed pepper and onions to the skillet with the steak. Season with steak seasoning and Worcestershire sauce. Toss everything together. Lower the heat to medium-low heat and allow the steak to cook for 1-2 more minutes, then remove the skillet from the heat.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F, then make the garlic butter. Melt 6 tablespoon of butter in a small bowl in the microwave. Then add the garlic, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and parsley (optional). Stir everything together to combine.
- Now slice the Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise. Place the bottom half of the rolls in a 9x13” baking dish or on a large sheet pan. Brush a little bit of the garlic butter on the cut side of the bottom rolls.
- Add the steak mixture on top of the bottom rolls and spread it out evenly. Then place the provolone cheese slices on top in a single layer.
- Place the top rolls on top of the steak and cheese. Brush the rest of the garlic butter on top of the rolls using a pastry brush or spoon it on top.
- Loosely cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 12 minutes. After 12 minutes, remove the foil and continue baking for 5 minutes until lightly golden brown. Enjoy!
Notes
- Feel free to substitute Provolone cheese with Swiss or White American.
- If you can’t find Hawaiian rolls at your local store, you can substitute them with bakery dinner rolls.
- You can substitute fresh garlic with ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder.
- Optional - if you want to add more juice to your steak, you can add ¼ cup of beef broth when you add the Worcestershire sauce.
