Preheat the oven to 425°F. Rinse, dry, and place the asparagus on a cutting board. Trim off the thick woody stem at the end of the asparagus spears.
Add the asparagus to a large sheet pan. Drizzle the olive oil over the asparagus and rub the oil into the spears. Now sprinkle the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and minced garlic over the asparagus. Toss together with your hands or tongs until all the asparagus is coated with the seasoning.
Spread the asparagus out in an even layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes if your asparagus spears are on the thinner side or 10-12 minutes if your asparagus spears are a little bit thicker.
Remove the asparagus from the oven and serve as is or add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice or grated parmesan cheese on top.
