Homemade Taco Seasoning Recipe

This simple homemade taco seasoning recipe is super flavorful and way better than store-bought seasoning. It's perfect for tacos, nachos, fajitas, and more!
Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings 1 batch (about 2.5 Tbsp)

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • ½ tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Measure out all of the spices in a small bowl or mason jar. Mix the spices together to combine. This recipe makes approximately 2 ½ tablespoons of taco seasoning.
  • Use the entire batch for 1 pound of meat. You can also make more and scale this recipe up if you want to store extra taco seasoning and have it ready to go for your next recipe!

Notes

  1. Storing leftover taco seasoning: Store any leftover taco seasoning in an airtight container in a cool, dry area for approximately 6-8 months. I like using these small mason jars to store leftover seasoning mixes.
  2. Feel free to double the recipe to make a bigger batch.
