Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the spaghetti pasta and boil according to the package instructions until the pasta is tender. Reserve ½ cup of the pasta water then drain the pasta in a colander. Set the pasta to the side.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onions and saute for 3 minutes. Add the minced garlic and saute for an additional 30 seconds.
Now add the ground turkey and cook, breaking up the turkey meat, until fully brown.
Add the spaghetti seasoning (Italian seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and black pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine all the spices with the ground meat. Then add in the tomato paste and ¼ cup of the reserved pasta water. Stir to combine.
Now add in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, the sugar, and the rest of the reserved pasta water. Stir everything together well to combine. Turn the heat down to medium-low and let the pasta sauce simmer for 4-5 minutes.
Combine the cooked spaghetti pasta and the pasta sauce together in the same pot that the pasta was cooked in. Top with fresh parsley or grated parmesan cheese. Serve with garlic bread, a simple side salad, or your favorite vegetable. Enjoy!
