Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the spaghetti pasta and boil according to the package instructions until the pasta is tender. Reserve about ¾ cup of the pasta water then drain the pasta in a colander. Set the pasta to the side.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onions and saute for 3 minutes. Add the minced garlic and saute for an additional 30 seconds.
Now add the ground turkey and cook, breaking up the turkey meat, until fully brown.
Add the spaghetti seasoning (Italian seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and black pepper to the skillet. Stir to combine all the spices with the ground meat.
Add in the tomato paste and ½ cup of the reserved pasta water. Stir to combine.
Now add in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and the sugar. Stir everything together to combine. (If needed add in the remaining ¼ cup of reserved pasta water to thin out the sauce) Turn the heat down to medium-low and let the pasta sauce simmer for 4-5 minutes.
Combine the cooked pasta and the spaghetti sauce together. Top with grated parmesan cheese (optional). Serve with garlic bread, a simple side salad, or your favorite vegetable. Enjoy!
