Ingredients

  • ½ cup steel cut oats
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 ½ cups vanilla almond milk
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ½ cup sliced strawberries

Instructions

  • Heat a small saucepan on medium heat and add steel cut oats, water, almond milk and a pinch of salt. Stir and bring to a boil.
  • As soon as the oatmeal comes to a boil, turn heat down to medium-low and simmer for 25 minutes stirring occasionally to make sure oatmeal is not sticking at the bottom of the pot.
  • While the oatmeal is cooking, chop some strawberries to add to the oatmeal and slice a few strawberries to go on top.
  • Once oatmeal is almost ready (around 20 minutes) add the honey and chopped strawberries. Stir well.
  • Transfer cooked oatmeal to a bowl and top with more sliced strawberries and a couple tablespoons of extra almond milk. Enjoy!
