MY INSTANT POT
I have the Instant Pot Duo Nova. I've had it for about a year and a half and I love it! It is a 7-in-1 appliance and I use the pressure cooker, saute function and rice cooker the most. It also has the Smart lid which is Instant Pot's newer easy to use seal lid that automatically seals your instant pot when you close the lid. My favorite things to cook in it are of course this dish, sweet potatoes or russet potatoes and rice. It really is a game change for me.

INSTANT POT APPLE CINNAMON STEEL CUT OATMEAL
Ingredients
- 1 cup Steel Cut Oats Do not use instant oats or old-fashioned oats for this cooking method
- 1 cup Almond Milk I like sweetened vanilla
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 Gala apples
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar for apples
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar for oatmeal after its cooked
Instructions
- Wash and chop apples into bite size pieces. No need to peel.
- Turn the Instant Pot on to saute mode. Add butter to the instant pot. Once butter is melted add chopped apples, brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir well and allow apples to cook for 3 minutes. Once apples have cooked for a few minutes, remove to a separate bowl and set aside.
- Turn off saute mode and add steel cut oats, milk, water and salt to the instant pot. Stir well and while you’re stirring scrape up any brown sugar that may have stuck to the bottom of the instant pot *(this step is very important to keep from getting a burn notice on the Instant Pot).
- Add the Instant Pot lid and turn the pressure valve to the sealing position. Pressure cook on high for 4 minutes. Once the 4 minutes is complete, allow it to natural pressure release for 15 minutes.
- Carefully turn the pressure release valve to “venting” to quick release the rest of the pressure.
- Remove the lid and stir in brown sugar or maple syrup to sweeten the oatmeal.
- Serve oatmeal with cooked cinnamon apples and enjoy! Oatmeal will naturally thicken as it sits.
